Re: [Reportage] Refaire son moteur
Salut,
Merci,
Séba.

Re: [Reportage] Refaire son moteur
Greetings to you all! I've just assembled the bottom end of an 710 engine and I think there is a problem. I assembled the new oil pump and when I turn the shaft that moves it through the timing belt it seems to get a little bit stuck at a certain point. Not much but noticeable.. Of course everything is lubricated and the oil pump is a new kolbenschmidt. Have you experienced anything like this?
Re: [Reportage] Refaire son moteur
Hello, we never had a problem like this with oil pumps.
Where does your oil pump come from?
Does your oil pump force inside the engine or even when it is disassembled?

Re: [Reportage] Refaire son moteur
Hi, pump is a new kolbenschmidt made in Germany.. I turn the shaft without the timing belt and at a certain point it gets a bit hursh.. No visual reason.. Has anybody turned the shaft by hand out of curiosity? Does it turn 100% freely?
Re: [Reportage] Refaire son moteur
Have you replaced the rings?

When you turn your oil pump by hand, when it is disassembled as in the photo, is there a blocking point?

From memory, when I had redo my engine, I had no hard point.

Re: [Reportage] Refaire son moteur
Hi, thanks for your concern.. I purchased these 2 bearings from mes pieces auto but they had some imperfections that made me keep the old ones. The oil pump turns fine by hand when it is disassembled, same does the oil pump shaft. Anyway, I moved the oil pump just a bit and it seems to be fine now..
Re: [Reportage] Refaire son moteur
Maybe the problem was a small difference in the centering of the oil pump. It takes a little sometimes.
If the problem is solved so much better.

Re: [Reportage] Refaire son moteur
Exactly.. Still in my hand I can feel something but maybe it's just me. Anyway, thanks again my friend!
